Step 1: Fill Out the Online Application

Start by completing the eMarriage Application online through the Pinellas County Clerk of Court. This saves time when you go in person.

➡️ Start your application here

Step 2: Visit the Clerk’s Office Together

After completing the online application, both of you must go in person to a Clerk’s office to finalize the license. Bring a valid photo ID (like a driver’s license or passport) and your Social Security numbers (you don’t need the cards—just the numbers).

No appointment is required—just walk in during business hours.

➡️ Find Clerk’s office locations here

Step 3: Pay the Fee

The marriage license fee (a single payment by Cash, Card, Check, etc. made payable to the Clerk of Court), is:

Step 4: Know the Waiting Period & Expiration

  • Florida residents who don’t take the premarital course must wait 3 days before getting married.
  • Out-of-state couples or those who complete the course can marry immediately.
  • Your license is valid for 60 days*, so plan your ceremony within that window.

*60 days period begins on the issue date written on the license and ends on the expiration date written on the license

Step 5: Get Married + File Your License

After your ceremony, your officiant must return the signed license* to the Clerk’s office to make it official. The county will then mail you a certified marriage certificate.

➡️ More info about filing and receiving your certificate

*Good news – if you’re booked with the St. Pete Elopement Package, our officiant will take care of filing your license for you!
